With that being said there are plenty of people who take time to make sure the right grass gets installed the right time of year. Most sod suppliers and sod farms do not garuntee their product to stay green. There are too many variables that impact that decision. Mainly being how you the customer might decide to take care of the grass. The best defense for you investment in your home is education. I’m this article we are going to talk about all the things you can do after installation to help protect your investment. The biggest thing to remember is that grass is a relatively simple thing to grow. Think about all the grass on the side of the highway that no one waters fertilizes or pays attention to and it is successful year in and year out. So if your reading this there is hope! You have already taken the first step to having the yard you have always wanted! 1. Make sure you sod is on a proper watering schedule. Day one and two after installation water all day. Take one day off the third day. Then continue watering at 30 minutes twice a day. 90 percent of the success with your new yard will depend on how much water you are giving the grass. 2. Use all natural fertilizers. When using chemical fertilizers in the heat. you run the risk of burning up your grass blades. Use products that contain manure only. Manure will not have any adverse affects on your newly installed yard. 3. Stay off they grass. If you need to get a sign. If that doesn’t work get a bigger one. Your sod will appreciate the additional time given to get established. You will want to try to give your new lawn about two weeks to start calling your property home. At this point the roots should be latched to the ground relatively nicely. Not walking on the grass will make sure you don’t kill the plant before it’s established
