When installing sod during the hotter months of the year you have to keep a few things in mind. Sod loves to be treated well once installed. In order to achieve the best results we have decided to cover a couple tips so you can make sure you are doing everything right.
1) Sod Loves Water – Post sod installation water your sod heavy your first 2 days and stay off sod to allow the ground to be completely saturated then firm up. Constantly water the entire first month.
2) Under-seed or Over-Seed Fescue – You can seed fescue but you cannot install fescue sod during 90 plus degree weather. Fescue sod roots cannot handle the heat and will die before having a chance to become established at new home.
3) Start Preparing for the Holidays – Creating lifelong memories during the holidays is everyone’s favorite part about coming together.
